"Celebrating 4 Years of Unemployment/Underemployment

Did you like the title? When I was first laid off from my last employer four years ago, I didn't expect to be out of work this long. I expected to be gainfully employed within 4 to 6 months...almost like the last time in November 2002 to April 2003. I did have some temporary work that helped since I wasn't collecting too much unemployment. I hoped to be able to do the same thing this time, but it just didn't work out that way. Things changed dramatically with the temporary agencies. This time they weren't going after you and placing you in jobs. Instead you needed to be a pest and go after them. This time there were too many people and not enough jobs.

So, I worked on a book, got it published and promoted it. It did really well the first few months it was out...but then it kind of "died." I had to find some other avenue to pursue. So I did. I have been freelancing since September 2014...but no "real" money as yet.
